adidas has played with paying homage to its ’80s-era “I Want I Can” campaign in recent months, including last year’s ZX 4000 4D “I Want I Can” release. Now the German footwear brand is using the campaign to decorate a colorful new ZX 2K Boost.
On 2019’s pair, the slogan took center stage in bold, block lettering across the primeknit upper. Now adidas has interjected the slogan in a slightly more subtle way on an otherwise not-so-subtle shoe. The new ZX 2K Boost features the words in small black typeface on the neon portion of the midsole. The rest of the shoe takes on a 1980s vibe with a turquoise upper and electric yellow lacing and bright orange sole.
If you like the comfort of the adidas Originals ZX 2K line but prefer a look that’s less Miami Beach, you can check out the all-black version of the running shoe, which is also dropping this month.
adidas will launch the new ZX 2K Boost on Friday, July 31 at 6 p.m. CET for £109.95 GBP (approximately $140 USD). For more new footwear, see the new “Tokyo Trio” from KITH and ASICS.
