Pride Month is here and so, too, are the corporate collections. And while most brands typically fall short, Nike is often quite tactful, never crossing into offensive territory. Same can be said for their 2021 offerings, which are to include the simple but commemorative Blazer Low ’77 “Be True.”
An umbrella to the Swoosh’s entire range, the “Be True” name marks both the insole as well as the inside tongue, while the exterior branding opts for Pride Flags and typical iconography. White leathers and grey suedes maintain the Blazer’s usual look, while pink soles and rainbow-threaded checks add a colorful touch befitting of the month-long celebration.
What’s more, to better honor all colors of spectrum, Nike has included a patch representative of lesbianism, transgenderism, intersexuality, bisexuality, pansexuality, asexuality, genderqueerism, agenderism, and progress.
For a closer look, check out the official images below. A release should be hitting Nike.com and select retailers very soon, definitely before the end of June.
In other news, a Puerto Rico Air Max 97 is coming soon.
