Sci-Fi Anime Inspired This Upcoming Nike Air Force 1:1 “Nike And The Mighty Swooshers” - HYPEBEAST

One of Nike’s most playful silhouettes to-date is the Air Force 1:1 as it bears removable velcro patches and gives wearers the ability to pull apart the sneaker and style it in their own way. After being unveiled with an “Animal Instinct” motif, the deconstructed model has now appeared with a “Nike And The Mighty Swooshes” theme that is inspired by sci-fi anime.

Base layers are built with a full black velcro underlay, and come neighbored by that of gray laces and jet black throat overlays. The aforementioned paneling here is where things kick into high gear. The Swooshes have been altered with multi-colored robot-like graphics and possess a thicker, more jagged edged shape to them. Toe boxes are dressed up with alien-esque graphics and Nike logos that are presented in manga-esque style. Surrounding the ttoe boxes on the lateral and medial sides are actual female anime characters, while the quarters alternate between abstract leafy graphics on the lateral side and retro Nike logos on the medial. Heel overlays continue its comic book-inspired essence by ushering in more alien look-a-likes that are firing rayguns. Down under, the midsoles are whipped in pure white and come rounded off by dark blue outsoles.

No release info has been confirmed by Nike just yet, but it’s likely that these will see a public delivery in the coming months.

In other sneaker news, Nike just revealed its “Himalayan Rhubarb” Air Force 1 ‘07 colorway.
