They don't make IPS at all.
So, what you see other brand marketing as IPS from Samsung is actually PLS.
For example, Sony X800H uses PLS panel.

Its not even close to the best IPS out there in color and viewing angles. The only thing they have better over any IPS is that they are way cheaper to produce and they consume less power. There are some more pros and cons of each but those two are among the most important ones for average Joe.

Samsung doesn't produce IPS panel. Their IPS equivalent is called PLS.

Yes, PLS is a TFT based screen, IPS is also TFT based.
In fact AMOLED is also TFT based.

Vaibhav K.E, 16 hours agoSamsung TFT display is better than others IPS LCD.Where do you people find those "facts" is really beyond me..... TFT is inferior screen technology than IPS. The reason why IPS displays tend to have better clarity of color than TFT displays is a better crystal oriental arrangement which is an important part. That is why when you compare the IPS LCD with TFT LCD for the clarity of color, IPS LCD will get the nod because of the better and advanced technology and structure. Also... The visibillity from different viewing angles are much better on IPS LCD. Fact.
