PHILADELPHIA - The University of Pennsylvania Division of Recreation and Intercollegiate Athletics and Nike have reached an agreement on a new five-year contract that will keep the Quakers in Nike through the 2025-26 athletic year. Under the agreement, Nike will remain the exclusive athletic footwear, apparel, and accessories sponsor of all 33 varsity teams for the University of Pennsylvania.

Penn has had a strong relationship with Nike dating back to 2009 when the men's and women's basketball teams first signed with Nike. In 2015, Penn inked its first all-school contract, expanding to support to the entire department.

"We are thrilled to continue our relationship with Nike to outfit our student-athletes, coaches and staff," Rudy Fuller, Interim Director of Athletics and Recreation said. "As we begin to return to a new normal following this challenging past year, it is our intent to over-deliver on the student-athlete experience for our young men and women who have been so negatively impacted by the pandemic. Part of that goal is to continue to provide our student-athletes with the best footwear, apparel and accessories which Nike offers as the premier brand in this space."

We look forward to continuing this partnership with Nike for years to come." - Mike McLaughlin, Head Women's Basketball Coach

"Our entire program is very excited to continue to work with Nike. They are not only at the cutting edge for sports gear, but also an industry leader for basketball and they place high value on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. It's important that we have partners like Nike that we know can support us both on and off the court." - Steve Donahue, John R. Rockwell Head Men's Basketball Coach

"Nike has long been on the cutting edge of innovation in footwear and apparel that supports the health and performance of Track & Field athletes across the entire spectrum of events. We are excited to continue chasing the potential of Penn Track & Field with Nike as a partner." - Steve Dolan, James P. Tuppeny/Betty J. Costanza Director of Track & Field/Cross Country

Penn has three contracts with non-Nike brands that remain in effect—STX for men's and women's lacrosse; Easton for baseball and softball; and TYR for men's and women's swimming and diving.
