Samsung Electronics announced on March 7 that it will release the Galaxy A42 5G on March 12. Its price is 449,900 won, the lowest among 5G smartphones released in Korea. It is cheaper than Samsung’s Galaxy A51 (572,000 won) and Xiaomi's Mi Lite (451,000 won), which were both introduced in May 2020.
Although the new smartphone is cheaper than any other model, it offers the same functions as premium smartphones. It is loaded with a 6.6-inch Infinity-U and a large-capacity 5,000 mAh battery.
The back is composed of a 48-megapixel main camera and a 5-megapixel depth and close-up camera. Its front camera has 20 million pixels and its ultra-wide angle camera 8 million pixels, a lower resolution compared with the 32 million and 12 million pixels of the A51.
