Those are some big shoes to fill.
A pair of rare Nike sneakers specifically designed for former President Barack Obama are going up for sale — for $25,000.
Sneakerheads will have a shot at purchasing the size 12.5 basketball shoes Friday on Sotheby’s new “Buy Now” website.
The pair of pricey white kicks are believed to be one of only two in existence, with the other gifted in 2009 to the basketball-loving 44th president, according to the auction house.
“With President Obama’s well-known love for the game, a basketball shoe was the natural choice,” Sotheby’s said.
“This particular pair was Nike’s only confirmation sample and have been kept in incredible condition over the last 12 years.”
The special Hyperdunks feature the Seal of the President on the tongues, the number “44” embroidered on each toe and “1776” written on the insoles.
They went on view at Sotheby’s Upper East Side location on Monday.
“It’s a pleasure to bring such a unique item to market,” said Brahm Wachter, Sotheby’s director of e-commerce development, in a statement.
“We hope it will be a slam dunk.”
The sale officially opens at 4:44 p.m. on Friday.
