Nike‘s classic Air Max 97 has been given a fresh “Coffee”-colored makeover. The new colorway is a much darker iteration compared to the recently unveiled UCLA Bruins-inspired UNDEFEATED x Nike Air Max 97, and it sports a handful of supple textures to elevate its understated look.
Most of the shoe comes in a hazel brown tone made from a rich blend of leather mesh and suede, underscored by a luscious cream-colored midsole. A fluorescent mini-Swoosh is stamped at the top of the shoe over a brown leather patch, complemented by a set of tonal laces, thin leather strips around the upper quarters and a thick suede panel at the mudguards. But beyond its noticeable outlook, the shoe also comes with some hidden details: a cat-in-a-mug illustration printed on the insole and a small tab at the back of the tongue that reads “ROASTED BY NIKE, INC.” and “97005” (Beaverton’s zip code). Rounding off the shoe’s designs, Nike opted for a cream-colored full-length Air sole unit to top off this delicate roast.
Though no official release dates have been confirmed, Nike’s Air Max 97 “Coffee” is set to release soon on Nike’s website for $170 USD.
