While overshadowed by some of its Nike Basketball counterparts, the Nike Air Raid seems ready to leave its mark on 2021 as it’s recently emerged in a “White/Black/University Red” colorway last seen in 2014.
Tamer than the “Live Together, Play Together” pair created for Spike Lee’s namesake campaign from 1993, the forthcoming pair features a predominantly “yin-and-yang” color scheme across its upper and sole unit. Hits of “University Red” enter the mix throughout the model’s signature “X” straps, taking over “AIR RAID” text on the lateral ankle. Elsewhere, the scarlet tone animates pull tabs on the heel in the same fashion it did six years ago. All together, the color trio delivers a look rooted in the silhouette’s 1990s attitude, while being from its retro cycle.
Enjoy official images of the streetball classic here below, as you wait for details of a Nike SNKRS launch to emerge.
In modern-day hoops-ready propositions from the Swoosh, the Kyrie 7 “Rayguns” arrive on January 2nd, 2021.
