The redeveloping stage is a crucial part of fashion methodology. During this time of great change new ideas within the fashion industry are gradually brought to the surface until brands feel secure with the next move forward. These days, the fashion force is moving at a rapid pace and perhaps ironically, will allow us to move more freely.

In a word, luxury fashion marketers who have not to kept-up with the tremendous changes within the consumer market have sadly suffered the consequences. The fact of the matter is that the voice and strength of the consumer is stronger that ever before. For example, Maven's list enables brands to reach their target market on a budget by minimizing the financial risks of upstarting. At the same time, Maven's List prevents celebs and influencers from being taken advantage of because it guarantees they'll get paid for their time due to the escrow function that makes this platform so unique!

Given their mutual interest in the varied social media marketing strategies, fashion brands challenge fixed ideas about how to develop their participatory brand culture online. Yet, it is probably not surprising to learn that the development is more complicated than once was thought. But one thing is for sure, brands today are seeking to emulate the strength and social impact of social media’s fashions frontrunners. Let the races begin...

I recently has the privilege of speaking with fashionista and entrepreneur Kelly Dooley about how you can achieve anything that you set your mind to, as long as you have pure intentions, why she believes that Louis Vuitton sets the precedent as a luxury brand and how the ugliest part of her story has become the most powerful part of her testimony!

Joseph DeAcetis: Talk about your personal growth from an entrepreneur to an investor?

Kelly Dooley: I believe that when you have pure intentions, the universe will bless you. I enjoy watching others win and am grateful to be in a position to empower others. I have a tattoo on my left arm that says "Turn Your Ashes into Diamonds." Being a serial entrepreneur, I have overcome endless obstacles, including a 10-month long depression back in 2014. I am living proof that you can achieve anything that you set your mind to, as long as you have pure intentions. I needed every ounce of pain that I have endured, as each dollop enables me to refocus on what truly matters to me, which is helping others become their best selves, to defy the odds, and set goals so big that they'll literally be forced to become a better person. I want to create a life of significance and to make my daughter proud to call me "Mom."

Joseph DeAcetis: What intrigued you to invest in Maven’s List and why?

Kelly Dooley: Every movement that I make has a purpose. Investing in Maven's List was an absolute no brainer. I have my Masters in Media, Culture and Communication Studies with an emphasis in luxury consumption from New York University. When I met Jeff Jones (CEO), who is also the founder of Maven's List, we hit it off because of our shared love for social media marketing. Maven's List is a major problem solver. Marketers who have chosen not to keep up with the vast changes of the consumer market have been failing miserably. The fact of the matter is that consumers are now in control. Customers are our marketers. Maven's List enables brands to reach their target market on a budget, thus minimizing the financial risks that are inherent whenever someone starts a new venture. At the same time, Maven's List prevents celebs and influencers from being taken advantage of as well because it guarantees they'll get paid for their time due to the escrow function that makes this platform so unique. Maven's List also lowers the probability of sexual abuse, which is rampant everywhere. On a more personal level, I wanted to invest in Jeff Jones because he is a black male whose father was in prison for much of his childhood. My daughter is mixed, and as a White woman who has a Black daughter, I am very passionate about social equity and generational wealth, and I feel morally obligated to help brilliant men like Jeff defy the odds. The road to the success is definitely tied to the company you keep and I've been blessed to be in a position where I can mentor Jeff and teach him to sit with winners because the conversation is drastically different. Jeff Jones deserves to win. God changed his circle to change his life. I also had the pleasure to work with Lee Caplin as Co-Chairman, Travis Cloyd as CTO, Kunal Kumar as Product Manager, Shobhna Kumar as Marketing Director and Kabir Kumar as Sales Director.

Joseph DeAcetis: In your words, do you think that personal style influences success. Please give examples.

Kelly Dooley: ABSOLUTELY. I used to own an activewear company called BodyRock Sport, which I launched in 2010 in New York City. I was 27 at the time. I branded myself. My signature look was the sports bras with our moto leggings, sneakers, which were usually Miu Miu, hot pink lipstick, a pompadour ponytail, which I called the croissant bouffant, and a big pink fur coat. Google Kelly Dooley New York Post and you can see an article from 2012 called Sweat Equity, which captures the look. (16/sweat-equity/).

Another example is Gwen Stefani with her platinum blonde hair and cherry red lips. She still looks beautiful with nude lips but it's impossible to think of her without thinking of those red lips!

Joseph DeAcetis: Who is your favorite designer or brand? Why?

Kelly Dooley: Overall, Louis Vuitton. I have studied luxury consumption extensively over the years, and Louis Vuitton sets the precedent as a brand. Their customer service, their diverse designs, their exclusivity, and their philosophy resonates with me, and is the model that I have used to build my current companies in the cannabis industry. I am one of their VIP clients, so I can personally attest to the fact that Louis Vuitton is the absolute best.

Joseph DeAcetis: How has your workflow changed during the Covid-19 pandemic?

Kelly Dooley: I am the busiest I have ever been. Covid-19 hit a month after my cannabis distro opened in Long Beach, CA. No matter what is happening with the economy, people will always get high. With the mandated quarantine and massive changes that humans have experienced since the pandemic, I think it's fair to say that more cannabis is being consumed than ever before!

Joseph DeAcetis: How are you using your platform as a woman in power during this time to create a social impact?

Kelly Dooley: I do not use social media to politicize my beliefs. For the most part, I keep my beliefs about Covid to myself, as my thoughts do not align with what the societal sheep believe. What I can say is that I have always used my social media, especially, my instagram, to shine a light for others. I am a single Mom to my 4-year-old daughter Zoe and am also a domestic violence advocate and survivor. I have been a safe haven for hundreds if not thousands of women and men worldwide when it comes to domestic abuse and mental health awareness. Life without mistakes is equivalent to an education without books and I hope that my page inspires others to live their lives with unwavering intention and to forgive themselves for mistakes they made in the past. I also believe it's important to not judge people based on one chapter of their lives. The key is to realize that there's no losses, only lessons, I believe that if I can help at least one person by sharing my story, then the experience was not in vain. The best currency I can truly give someone is inspiration and I aspire to do that every day by creating a life of significance and by blazing.a purpose trial that ignites the light in others. It was in changing that I found my purpose. The ugliest part of my story has become the most powerful part of my testimony and I am grateful each and every lesson I have acquired along the way.

Joseph DeAcetis: What brand or brands do you feel best aligns with your personal style as a business person and investor?

Kelly Dooley: LVMH/Louis Vuitton.

Joseph DeAcetis: Who is your style icon?

Kelly Dooley: I do not have one style icon, There's several women whose style I love, including:  Halle Berry, Rihanna, Jennifer Lopez, Beyonce, Kylie Jenner and Kim Kardashian.

Joseph DeAcetis: Tell Forbes about your upcoming projects?

Kelly Dooley: I recently started a luxury cannabis branding company called Luxe Branding Haus, which unifies my experience in fashion with my current endeavors as a cannabis distributor and manufacturer. There's three requirements to become one of our clients: (1) You must implement a vertical approach. We provide all of the raw goods needed for your brand so that you have a solid supply chain, which is one of the foundational elements for longevity; (2) You must be willing to NOT use cannabis leaves in any branding so that we can promote across platforms and design merchandise that will reach your target demographic regardless of whether or not you're sold out of your cannabis products; (3) You must tie yourself to a cause so that we can enforce kindness with each and every creation that we launch.

Joseph DeAcetis: How would you describe your daily go-to workout outfit?

Kelly Dooley: A collectors designer handbag, usually Louis Vuitton or Gucci; designer trousers; heels; a bodysuit or a blouse with a trendy jacket or blazer; earrings and natural makeup.

Joseph DeAcetis: What other entrepreneurs would you love to work with and why?

Kelly Dooley: Gary V, Seth Godin, and Tim Grover. They're all outliers who have relentlessly pursued their dreams and who share their wisdom so that others can do the same.

Joseph DeAcetis: Who is the one person that empowers you to start your day?

Kelly Dooley: My daughter Zoe, who is the penultimate blessing. When you have a defined WHY, the HOW becomes easy. Everything I do is with her in mind. As actress Penelope Cruz once said, "All those cliches-those things you hear about motherhood—-all of them are true. And all of them are the most beautiful things you will ever experience." I have become the woman I needed as a girl and I can only hope that Zoe looks back at her childhood as an adult knowing that transformed me into the woman I am today. The name "Zoe" means life. She literally loved me back to life during an extremely vulnerable chapter of my life and I remind her daily of the fact that she's the best thing thing has EVER happened to me.

Joseph DeAcetis: What is your daily routine and do you think that helps continue your success?

I operate on a very high level with very little sleep. I average 4-5 hours nightly. I realize that I am not normal. I work out. I have eat healthy and most importantly, I protect my energy. I do not care about things. I care about energy. I do not care about people. I care about energy. Energy is what makes the world go around, So be careful about who you share your energy with.
