Though Valentine’s Day is still a long ways away, Nike is already feeling the spirit as they’ve preemptively dressed the Air Max 90 in the holiday’s usual pink and red themes.
At a glance, the construction seems to allude any overt reference. But, as seen across the eyelets as well as “Nike Air” branding, little hearts are placed where appropriate, accenting atop a backdrop of pink or red. The underlays and mudguard outfit in a bright white — same as the lace as well as the instep underneath — while the aforementioned pink is further paired adjacent at the suede quarter panel as well as the lining and midsole. Red, then, works its way atop, brining attention not only to the Swoosh at the side but also the tongue’s branded tab whose outer layer unfastens to reveal a playful message: “ME+AM90=TRUE LOVE.”
