Nike Reworks Air Force 1 With Eco-Friendly Crater Foam - HYPEBEAST

Nike has updated its Air Force 1 with a flurry of sustainable materials: The Nike Air Force 1 Crater. It’s one of the footwear giant’s latest efforts, “Move to Zero,” towards eco-friendly design, as seen in the Space Hippie 04 in “Astronomy Blue” from earlier this month.

Sporting bold gray and black colorways, the silhouette features solid-colored panels that are contrasted against large portions of the shoe made from recycled materials. Starting at the top of the shoe is a woven tongue tag, followed by a set of tonal laces. Smooth full-grain leather panels cover the midsection and heel, while the toebox is constructed with 24 percent PU recycled synthetic leather that comes with a multi-colored pattern — protected by a semi-translucent coating. All of these details rest over a Crater Foam midsole, engineered from a mix of 11 percent Nike Grind Rubber and standard Nike foams, while 20 percent recycled TPU rounds off the shoe’s eco-friendly design.

The Nike Air Force 1 Crater will be available on October 1 on Nike’s website — prices have yet to be confirmed.

In case you missed it, here’s a closer look at the Off-White™ x Nike Air Zoom Tempo Next%.
