Innovation through sports has been part of adidas‘ DNA since Adolf Dassler set up his work station in his mother’s wash kitchen in the 1920s. On this front, the Stan Smith has recently surfaced in a trio weatherized for the colder, wetter months of the year.
Although not new to the once-tennis-staple, plush fleece has previously lined predominantly “Cloud White” ensembles. The forthcoming trio indulges in autumnal shades of green (“Raw Khaki”), brown (“Cardboard”), and black (“Core Black”) across treated leather. Stan Smith-related branding on the tongue and heel maintain their standard composition, but the latter is accompanied by a textile pull-tab. Furthermore, lateral heels are stamped with figures related to the model’s release cycle (Fall/Winter 2020). Sole units complement their uppers in equally muted tan, grey, and black hues.
