After much anticipation, the Sean Wotherspoon x adidas Originals SUPEREARTH Superstar has finally received an official look and confirmed release date.
Sean Wotherspoon rose to sneaker designing prominence following his partnership with Nike on the Air Max 1/97. Since, the Round Two co-founder has worked with ASICS, and now, his collaboration with adidas Originals has officially appeared in all its floral glory.
The SUPEREARTH is a vegan take on adidas Originals’ classic Superstar sneaker. It’s entirely free of animal-derived products, and it was consciously made thanks to a waste-minimizing production method and the use of recycled rubber that forms the sole unit.
One of the most notable parts of the SUPEREARTH is its flower-covered body. Drawings and frayed embroidery that hangs down from the sneaker’s upper creates a meddow-like aesthetic thanks to yellow, black, red, green, orange, and blue contrasting the white vegan leather base. “Sky Blue” dresses the eyestay panel, while SUPEREARTH branding on the tongue and a trefoil logo on the heel round out the pair.
The Sean Wotherspoon x adidas Originals SUPEREARTH Superstar can be seen above, and can be picked up from adidas Originals’ website, in its stores and at select retailers worldwide on August 29. A price is yet to be announced.
