Arsenal and adidas have revealed the London club’s home jersey for the 2020/21 season, celebrating the team’s Art Deco period in the ’30s and ’40s. The inspiration comes from a geometric crest used by the club between 1936 and 1949, which has been reinterpreted into an all-over chevron graphic.
As well as referencing this era, the chevron graphic is also a nod to the marble floors in the East Stand at Highbury, where Arsenal played until moving to the Emirates Stadium in 2006. Other details include a back neck graphic referencing the original crest, and a darker shade of red used to celebrate the club’s heritage.
The new kit will make its on-pitch debut when Arsenal play Watford on July 26. The kit is available now from the adidas web store and Arsenal’s online store.
